Insights: International Journal of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences (IIJHMSS) is committed to academic integrity and enforces a strict plagiarism policy in accordance with the standards set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. This policy ensures the originality, authenticity, and academic credibility of all published work.

To maintain ethical research standards and promote genuine scholarly contributions, IIJHMSS applies the following plagiarism guidelines:

Turnitin Requirement

All submitted manuscripts must be accompanied by a Turnitin Similarity Report at the time of submission. The report must reflect the full manuscript, including all sections (abstract, introduction, methodology, discussion, references, etc.). Submissions without a Turnitin report will not be processed for review.

Overall Similarity Threshold

The total similarity index of any submitted manuscript must not exceed 19 percent. This threshold is set to ensure that the content presented is predominantly original and not excessively copied or borrowed from existing sources.

Single Source Limitation

No single source of information may contribute more than 4 percent to the overall similarity index. This limit helps to prevent dependency on one particular source and encourages a more comprehensive and diverse engagement with existing literature.

Cross-Checking Sources

To verify the authenticity of the content, all submissions are cross-checked using Turnitin against a broad database of academic materials. This includes published journals, books, theses, and conference proceedings. The goal is to identify any overlapping or duplicated content.

Consequence of Violation

Manuscripts that do not comply with the above-mentioned standards are subject to the following actions:

  • Rejection: Submissions with a similarity index above 19 percent or with a single source contributing more than 4 percent may be rejected at the initial editorial stage.
  • Revision Request: Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit their work to meet the plagiarism criteria. Revisions must be supported by a new Turnitin report reflecting the updated similarity index.

The editorial office holds the right to request clarification or correction from the authors if the similarity report indicates any area of concern.

IIJHMSS values transparency and ethical authorship and encourages all contributors to submit manuscripts that reflect their own scholarly efforts. Authors are responsible for ensuring proper citation and paraphrasing in accordance with academic writing standards.
